What can Neurofeedback and DBR help with?

Neurofeedback promotes wellbeing and a sense of calmness by training the brain to function more efficiently. By targeting specific brain waves, neurofeedback can help you manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life. Neurofeedback can help with a variety of symptoms including depression, anxiety, ASD, ADHD, insomnia and sleep disturbance, stress, trauma and PTSD, panic attacks, lack of focus, difficulty with memory, migraines and headaches, etc.

Neurofeedback works with symptoms rather than diagnosis. So, whilst anxiety, for example, in general terms, has a certain presentation, what matters to us, is how it manifests for you. We want to know what anxiety looks and feels like for you and how it impacts your life. Together we will design a training programme that responds to the impact of these symptoms on you.

In DBR a first step is identifying and accessing traumatic memories (activating stimuli). This isn’t about reliving the trauma in vivid detail, but rather about gently approaching the edges of these experiences. As traumatic memories are accessed, the therapist guides your attention to the physical sensations and impulses that arise which are the echoes of your original orienting responses to the traumatic event. In DBR these sensations are allowed to emerge slowly and naturally, paying close attention to them and allowing them to be. This slow, mindful movement allows your brain to process and integrate the experience in a new way.

As you move through these orienting responses, you may find that memories, emotions, and sensations begin to shift and change in an integration and processing phase. Clients can experience profound insights or emotional releases during this process.

Our Process

Step 1

We begin with a cost-free initial conversation over the phone. We will respond to your initial enquiry and to any questions you may have.

Step 2

If you wish to proceed, we will schedule the initial consultation. This will last for one hour during which time, we will dive deeper into understanding what challenges you are facing, your hopes and expectations for neurofeedback, explain how the sessions work, what you can expect from us and the options available. We will deliver a tester neurofeedback session for you during the initial consultation. We will check in with you in 2 to 3 days after your initial consultation.

Step 3

If you wish to embark on the neurofeedback training programme, we will book you in for your first appointment. We will be taking an in-depth clinical history that will help formulate your training plan and you will start your training from that session. Every session lasts 50min and we evaluate progress at each session.
